About us
Established within the Workforce Planning and Talent Development Branch, the new Strategic Medical Operations Unit will centrally manage the locum medical workforce strategy including developing the internal capability to source its locum medical workforce. The Unit will provide an innovative environment for NSW Health to attract and retain its medical workforce while providing new flexibility.

Join the Strategic Medical Operations Unit at NSW Health and play a key role in keeping the team running smoothly. You’ll coordinate meetings, prepare high-quality documents, manage correspondence and ensure critical timelines are met. Health Manager level 1, starting salary from $84,436- $112,331 plus Super, with a 38-hour work week.
What you’ll be doing
- Coordination of unit administrative support to meet critical timelines
- Deliver a comprehensive range of administrative support functions, including diary and meeting management, routine databases, secretariat support to committees, photocopying, document production, compilation and distribution and maintenance of office equipment.
- Receive, assess and manage email enquiries from internal and external stakeholders, including requests for meetings, and note required follow up.
- Review and manage correspondence for signature by the Medical Director and Associate Director, correcting for quality, and/ or seeking additional information or clarification from the author if necessary.
- Draft and prepare general correspondence, presentations, reports and submissions.
- Produce business activity reports, such as staffing, sick leave, budget reconciliation.
- Train and support other staff in the application of business processes and technologies.
About you:
We are seeking motivated and committed individuals who can support the work of NSW Health with:
- Qualifications such as Certificate 4 level in Business Administration Support (or similar) and/or substantial experience in administrative support positions with a demonstrated capacity to work effectively at the executive level and evidence of continued development.
- Experience in large complex organisations, preferably in health or government agencies.
