- Lead risk oversight for Westpac’s flagship tech transformation program
- High-impact role with direct exposure to senior leadership and strategic forums
- Autonomy and ownership - ideal for experienced professionals ready to lead
What’s the role?
We’re looking for an Executive Manager to lead second line risk oversight of Westpac’s Chief Technology Office, including the UNITE transformation program. This is a high-impact role supporting the Deputy CRO to ensure governance is robust, risks are well-managed, and the bank’s technology transformation delivers safely and successfully.
You’ll act as a key conduit between risk and the business - providing insights, challenge, and coordination across senior forums. From deep dives to strategic reviews, you’ll help shape how risk is understood and managed in one of Westpac’s most critical change programs.
This role will play a crucial part of the UNITE team. UNITE is our business-led, tech-enabled transformation, and a key priority for the Group. UNITE is about delivering 'one best way' to make our processes, systems and tech simpler so we can deliver a better experience for our customers and make things easier for our people.
This is a permanent fulltime role based in Sydney with flexible working arrangements.
What do I need?
We’re after a confident and collaborative risk leader who thrives in complex environments and knows how to influence at all levels. You’ll need to be proactive, resilient, and ready to lead from day one. Here’s what will help you succeed:
- Strong operational risk experience, ideally in financial services
- Proven track record in large-scale transformation or technology programs
- Ability to work independently and build credibility quickly
- Sharp analytical and problem-solving skills
- Confidence to challenge constructively and influence senior leaders
- A strategic mindset with a focus on enabling safe delivery
Why join us?
We’re obsessed with becoming our customers #1 banking partner for life and we’re looking for people who are passionate about helping us achieve that goal. In return we’re committed to making Westpac the best place to work in the country. Here are just a few of the ways we’re already doing that:

- Flexible work arrangements to help you achieve a greater work/life balance, and a variety of leave options including Culture, Lifestyle and Wellbeing leave.
- Tailored learning and development opportunities to help your grow your career within the bank.
- Lots of opportunities to ‘give back’ to the Community by getting involved in our many volunteering initiatives
