Primary objective
Manage the Corporate unit, provide direct assistance to the Chief Executive Officer and general assistance to other members of the
executive management team and coordinate and facilitate advice to all Land Development Corporation staff on corporate matters.
Context statement
The Land Development Corporation is a Government Business Division. LDC is responsible for delivering strategic land throughout the
Northern Territory.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Provide sound advice and support on business and corporate management issues and assist the Chief Executive and General Manager
in managing the corporate objectives of LDC.
2. Provide high level advice and support to LDC on procurement, Human Resource Management, Work Health and Safety, information
technology and records management, and preparation and presentation of corporate reporting.
3. Manage and coordinate the Secretariat unit for LDC, including coordinate the preparation of Cabinet Submissions, Ministerial
correspondence, Memorandums, letters and other high-level correspondence within defined timeframes.
4. Manage the provisions of services in accordance with the Service Statements between the Department of Corporate and Digital
Development and the Department of Logistics and Infrastructure.
5. Manage finances, including the processing of accounts and invoicing in relation to corporate activities.
6. Supervise, lead and mentor and mentor junior team members.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. Demonstrated experience managing and coordinating the business processes of a unit, including working knowledge of procurement,
Human Resource Management, financial management and relevant corporate business systems.
2. Demonstrated knowledge of Secretariat, Human Resource Management, financial management, and corporate business functions and
systems.
3. Demonstrated organisation and management skills including proven ability to complete tasks with high quality results and meet tight
and conflicting deadlines.
4. Demonstrated high level oral communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills to enable communication across all levels with
various stakeholders with capacity to communicate clearly across cultural and professional boundaries.
5. High level computer skills including word processing, desktop publishing, electronic mail and databases.
6. Sound experience in leadership, mentoring and guiding a team.
7. Hold a current ‘C’ Class Northern Territory Drivers Licence.
Desirable
1. Working knowledge and experience using NT Government systems such as TRM, TRIPS, NTGPay, Expense8, VBS and IT Services.
2. Tertiary qualifications or equivalent in business or relevant discipline.
3. Hold a current ‘C’ Class Northern Territory Drivers Licence.
