Role description
The Exercise Physiology Professional Lead role is responsible for profession-specific leadership and governance of the Exercise Physiology workforce within Dhelkaya Health, in addition to responsibilities for clinical care and program leadership.
The Exercise Physiology Professional Lead will work in close collaboration with Chief Allied Health Officer, Program Managers and other relevant stakeholders across the organisation to ensure the delivery of high-quality clinical services by staff who are supported to perform their roles within an evidence-based framework. The Exercise Physiology Lead will also fulfil an advisory and advocacy function within the organisation for matters relating to their professional discipline. This position will have a strong focus on engagement and support of AHP's through clinical supervision, proactive approaches to mitigating clinical risk, workforce strategies and recruitment, professional development, maintaining professional standards, and promoting a collective professional identity within Dhelkaya Health.
The Exercise Physiology Lead will also maintain a clinical caseload and have delegated responsibilities for oversight of designated community, outpatient or inpatient programs to support the Program Managers. The allocation of these responsibilities will vary according to the discipline needs and individual staff circumstances.
As a leader within the organisation, the Exercise Physiology Lead will have delegated responsibilities within multidisciplinary programs, in an allocated Program Lead role. Program Leads will play a key supporting role to the Manager by assuming responsibility for tasks including monitoring program throughput, monitoring waiting lists, identifying learning development needs within the program team and leading activities to promote and market the program.
This role is primarily based at the Dhelkaya Health Castlemaine campus but may be required to work at alternative organisational sites as directed.
About you
- Tertiary qualifications in Exercise Physiology
- Minimum of 7 years' professional work experience in relevant discipline
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Strong understanding of current disciplne frameworks and key competencies required for allied health roles
- Expereience leading effectively withinin a clinical governance framework
