Supporting Abilities for Everyone (S.A.F.E.) is seeking a passionate Disability Support Worker to join the team, located throughout inner-Melbourne.
- 30-year-old female participant.
- St Kilda location.
- Tuesday(s) and Friday(s) 9:00 am - 12:00 pm. Possibility of slight change in schedule dependent on the participant's availability. Specifically looking for coverage between August 26 to September 11.
- Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), anxiety, asthma, chronic pain and chronic fatigue diagnosis.
- Female support worker aged between 25 to 35 years old preferred. LGBTQIA+ friendly.
- Tasks include: Practical help with day-to day living/life events, maintaining attendance at regular appointments. May require transport and support to attend. Engaging in more hobbies and with interest groups. Explore facilities and amenities around new house and making new social connections.
- Participant interests: Video games, arcade/pub games (billiards, air hockey, etc), art (drawing), movies (animated films), being outside (feeding birds, the beach), swimming, baking/cooking, cocktail making and drinking, op shopping, playing music (mucking around on the guitar).
- Subject to meet and greet/shadow shift potentially available.
- Possibility of additional hours supporting other participants nearby.
We are looking for competent, enthusiastic and reliable Support Workers who possess the right empathy, interpersonal skills and ethics to prioritise the care of our clients.
Essential Selection Criteria (or willingness to obtain):
- Current First Aid and CPR certificate.
- Current National Police Check
- Current Working with Children Check (Employee status/if working with participants <18 years of age).
- Valid Australian Driver’s License.
- A reliable vehicle with Comprehensive Car Insurance (to transport participants).
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check (Approximately $123).
- Fully vaccinated against Covid-19 (minimum of two doses).
- The right to work in Australia.
