Female Motor Neurone Disease (MND) Support Worker (Casual)

Supporting Abilities for Everyone (S.A.F.E.) is seeking a passionate Disability Support Worker to join the team, located throughout south-east Melbourne.

- Unsure of gender or age (at this point in time).
- Murrumbeena location.
- Wednesday(s) 8:30 am – 12:00 pm, Friday(s) 7:00 pm – 10:00 pm.
- Motor Neurone Disease (MND) diagnosis and experience required.
- NIV/BiPAP experience advantageous.
- Meal prep/cooking experience advantageous. European style cooking, not too hot and spicy.
- Looking for a support worker who is comfortable with gardening and "knows what a weed is and how to pull it out".
- Participant hobbies/interests include: Gardening.
- Tasks include: Support with NIV, meal prep, basic gardening. More information to come.
- Support requirements expected to increase over time.
- Possibility for additional work with other participants nearby.

We are looking for a competent, enthusiastic and reliable Support Workers who possess the right empathy, interpersonal skills and ethics to prioritise the care of our clients.

Essential Selection Criteria (or willingness to obtain):

• Current First Aid and CPR certificate.
• Current National Police Check
• Current Working with Children Check (Employee status/if working with participants <18 years of age).
• Valid Australian Driver’s License.
• A reliable vehicle with Comprehensive Car Insurance (to transport participants).
• Current NDIS Worker Screening Check (Approximately $123).
• Fully vaccinated against Covid-19 (minimum of two doses).
• The right to work in Australia.

Job Type: Casual

Pay: $40.00 – $80.00 per hour
