Supporting Abilities for Everyone (S.A.F.E.) is seeking a passionate Disability Support Worker to join the team, located throughout north-eastern Melbourne.
- 55-year-old male participant.
- Kangaroo Ground location.
- Wednesday(s) 10:00 am - 12:00 pm preferred. Possibility of a different day if required.
- Motor Neurone Disease (MND) diagnosis and experience preferred.
- Female support worker(s) preferred.
- Requires supervision when mobilising (unable to use mobility aid).
- Requires basic personal care including with showering, basic toileting and basic domestic assistance.
- Tasks may include: transfer out of bed, prepare/set up breakfast, showering, basic toileting (pulling up pants), dressing, assistance with eating.
- Participant hobbies/interests include: AFL (Brisbane Lions supporter), sport.
- Support worker must be comfortable with dogs (no risk).
- Support requirements expected to increase over time.
- Possibility for additional work with other participants nearby.
We are looking for a competent, enthusiastic and reliable Support Worker who possesses the right empathy, interpersonal skills and ethics to prioritise the care of our clients.
Essential Selection Criteria (or willingness to obtain):
- Current First Aid and CPR certificate.
- Current National Police Check
- Current Working with Children Check (Employee status/if working with participants <18 years of age).
- Valid Australian Driver’s License.
- A reliable vehicle with Comprehensive Car Insurance (to transport participants).
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check (Approximately $123).
- Fully vaccinated against Covid-19 (minimum of two doses).
- The right to work in Australia.

Pay: $40.00 per hour
