As a Front of House Staff member at our Fish and Chips Shop, you will be the face of our establishment, providing exceptional customer service and ensuring a pleasant dining experience for all our patrons.

Your primary responsibility will be to serve customers, take orders, and manage the overall dining area.

Responsibilities:
1. Customer Service: Greet customers with a warm and friendly attitude, making them feel welcome as soon as they enter the shop. Attend to customer inquiries, provide menu information, and offer recommendations as needed.
2. Order Taking: Efficiently take customers' orders, ensuring accuracy and attention to special requests or dietary preferences.
3. Order Processing: Transmit orders to the kitchen or back-of-house staff promptly and ensure timely delivery of food to customers' tables or takeaway orders.
4. Table Management: Maintain a clean, organized, and well-presented dining area. Clear and clean tables promptly after customers have finished their meals.
5. Payment Handling: Process cash, credit card, or digital payment transactions accurately and efficiently. Issue receipts to customers when necessary.
6. Upselling: Familiarize yourself with the menu items and promote special offers or additional items to increase sales.
7. Customer Assistance: Provide assistance to customers in carrying their takeaway orders or finding seating if needed.
8. Handling Complaints: Address customer concerns and complaints professionally and promptly. Seek assistance from the manager if necessary to ensure customer satisfaction.
9. Hygiene and Food Safety: Adhere to proper hygiene and food safety standards at all times, maintaining a clean personal appearance and following food handling guidelines.
10. Daily Operations: Assist with opening and closing procedures, ensuring the shop is ready for business and clean-up duties are completed at the end of the day.
11. Teamwork: Collaborate with kitchen staff and other team members to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
12. Knowledge Upkeep: Stay informed about the menu, special offers, and any changes in policies or procedures.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a similar front-of-house role or customer service position is advantageous but not always required.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Friendly and approachable demeanor with a passion for delivering outstanding customer service.
- Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure.
- Basic math skills for processing payments and giving change.
- Flexibility to work in shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Physical stamina to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices is a plus.
