About the role

As the General Manager – ART Life Commercial, you’ll:
- Lead the strategy and growth of our ART Life insurance business.
- Build and manage key partnerships with employers, trustees, and health providers.
- Drive continuous improvement across underwriting, claims, and operations.
- Oversee our technology roadmap, data platform, and reporting systems.
- Manage reinsurance arrangements and ensure alignment with risk appetite and governance.
Day to day, you'll:
- Set the direction for ART Life’s commercial strategy.
- Lead transformation programs and improve operational efficiency.
- Work with internal teams to deliver better customer experiences.
- Ensure our data and reporting tools support smart decision-making.
- Keep our policies, procedures, and systems up to date and effective.

About you
It goes without saying you'll be a great communicator with top notch interpersonal skills. We'll also expect you to pick up problems and come up with quick, creative ways to solve them. It's quite likely you tick some of the following boxes too:
- You’ve led commercial strategy in insurance or financial services and know how to align business goals with enterprise-wide plans.
- You’re confident managing large budgets and making decisions that balance financial impact with long-term outcomes.
- You’ve built and maintained strategic partnerships—especially with employers, trustees, and health providers—and know how to turn relationships into results.
- You’ve driven operational transformation and continuous improvement programs, especially in underwriting and claims.
- You understand how to use data platforms and reporting tools to uncover insights and improve performance.
- You’ve worked with technology teams to shape digital roadmaps and deliver customer-focused solutions.
- You’re experienced in managing reinsurance arrangements and understand risk appetite and compliance frameworks.
- You’ve developed corporate infrastructure—policies, procedures, systems—and know how to embed them into operations.
- You hold relevant tertiary qualifications, and ideally post-graduate credentials too.
