About us
Court Services Victoria provides corporate services and facilities to support the performance of the judicial, quasi-judicial and administrative functions of Victoria's courts and tribunal, Judicial College and Judicial Commission. Collectively, Victoria's Supreme, County, Magistrates', Children's, and Coroners courts, the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal (VCAT), the Judicial College of Victoria, the Judicial Commission of Victoria, and Court Services Victoria (CSV) are referred to as the ‘Courts Group'.

The Magistrates' Court of Victoria (MCV) is the first level of the Victorian court system and is a jurisdiction within the Court Services Victoria. It has a long history of providing justice for the people of Victoria in metropolitan and regional courts across the state. The Court determines in excess of 300,000 cases per annum at 51 locations, equating to approximately 90 percent of all cases that come before Victorian courts each year. The Court aims to be an innovative, accessible, and responsive court that provides quality services to the Victorian community.

The Magistrates' Court of Victoria is seeking a visionary General Manager - Court Services Quality and Standards to lead the development and delivery of high-quality, evidence-based programs that support some of the most critical areas of our justice system.
This is not just a leadership role—it's a chance to transform how justice is delivered across Victoria. You'll oversee the quality and integrity of specialist court programs including Drug Court, ARC, Koori Court, and Specialist Family Violence Courts, ensuring they meet the highest standards of service and reflect best practice. You will:
  • Lead the design and implementation of statewide program standards that are responsive, consistent, and aligned with legislation.
  • Champion continuous improvement and innovation across all service areas.
  • Provide expert guidance on risk assessment, case planning, and therapeutic justice principles.
  • Collaborate with judicial officers, court leaders, and frontline staff to embed quality and consistency in program delivery.
  • Build strong partnerships with government departments, justice and social service organisations, and community stakeholders.
  • Influence policy and practice through strategic leadership and expert advice.

About you
You're a strategic and collaborative leader who brings proven leadership experience in complex, multi-stakeholder environments. Your other strengths will include:
  • Extensive experience managing large teams and leading service delivery in health, disability, or community welfa re sectors.
  • Deep understanding of criminogenic risk factors, behaviour change, and therapeutic justice.
  • Expertise in family violence dynamics, the MARAM framework, and information sharing legislation.
  • Exceptional stakeholder engagement and influencing skills.
  • A track record of driving innovation, quality improvement, and service excellence.
  • Graduate or postgraduate qualifications in social work, psychology, allied health, disability, or a related field.
