Chess Engineering is a leading Australian steel fabrication and mechanical engineering company, delivering high-quality turnkey solutions across rail, mining, infrastructure, and food processing. Our Leppington head office is our main production and distribution centre, housing 160 blue and white collar staff, with another 100 staff based across our WA office, installation teams, and major client sites. We are seeking a skilled Full-time Hardware Technician based at our Leppington site to maintain and support our systems, ensuring optimal performance across operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Determine software and hardware requirements to provide effective solutions to technical problems.
- Respond to inquiries and provide support for software and hardware issues.
- Adapt existing programs to meet user requirements and improve system efficiency.
- Ensure efficient use and operation of applications and equipment across the organisation.
- Implement and maintain computer networks to support business operations.
- Overall maintenance and accurate information.
- Coordinate with colleagues and external companies when we need to repair or replace equipment such as terminals, printers, and modems as needed.
Qualifications and Skills
- Proven experience in hardware and software support within an industrial or engineering environment.
- Strong knowledge of computer systems, networks, and peripheral equipment.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with team members and stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Relevant certifications or qualifications in Information Technology or a related field are preferred.
- Experienced in Outlook, Xero, Microsoft Access and Aussie Timesheets (both highly regarded)
