About the role:
We are seeking a Full-Time Head Despatcher to join the team at our Head Office in Nambour. This is a pivotal role within the business and is a position that would suit someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys problem solving and works well as a team.
This role will include accountability for a wide range of tasks including:
Despatch drivers, trucks and other response vehicles for emergency and non-emergency responses
Assess jobs and prioritise according to importance, urgency and risk.
Communicate requirements with customer service officers, drivers, managers and other parties to ensure smooth scheduling and coordination of transportation demands
Monitor incoming and outgoing communication within the despatch office including phone, radio and email
Respond to incoming calls and book in jobs, ensuring timely support to customers
Resolve customer queries in line with operational requirements
Data entry ensuring all despatch documents and records are maintained accurately and within required timeframes
About you:
The ideal candidate must be a superior communicator and can remain calm and composed, especially in emergency situations. To be successful in this role, you will have:
Previous despatch experience
Sound judgement and critical thinking
Strong communication skills, written and verbal
Solid computer skills and quick to learn new programs
High level of accuracy with an eye for detail and excellent time management skills
Problem solving skills
Ability to work as part of a team in a support role
Transport industry experience will be highly regarded
