We are seeking an experienced educational leader for the position of Head of Faculty – Business, Economics, Legal and Commerce to join our team. The Head of Faculty is responsible for shaping and maintaining a clear vision that guides the ongoing development of the curriculum, supervises its implementation, and ensures the highest quality of teaching and learning for every student in the faculty. The role also includes fostering professional development and providing guidance to Business, Economics, Legal and Commerce staff to ensure continuous growth and excellence in teaching practices.
The position is full-time, ongoing commencing 23 January 2026 and carries a generous time release allowance as well as an above industry leadership allowance. The narrow range of subjects in this faculty offers the successful applicant a unique opportunity for specialisation of focus and vision. Student enrolments in these courses are thriving, and each course has a significant number of classes operating at each year level, offering the unique opportunity for the successful applicant to make an impact at a scale that is rarely seen across the sector.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
The successful candidate will
- be an outstanding classroom teacher who models best teaching practice
- have a detailed understanding of the NSW curriculum framework across Stages 4 – 6
- the ability to teach Economics is a preference but not essential
- demonstrate strategic leadership capabilities and have a well-developed understanding of contemporary educational issues and innovative pedagogical approaches related to the faculty and broader school context
- hold a postgraduate qualification in educational leadership or similar (desirable)
- demonstrate an understanding of and commitment to the Mission and Values of the College
- demonstrate the capacity to develop and sustain strong interpersonal relationships and establish productive partnerships
- demonstrate high level administrative and organisational skills
- excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as highly developed interpersonal skills
- a proactive approach demonstrating personal initiative, adaptability and time management skills
- the ability to multi-task and set priorities with acute attention to detail
- hold a current Working with Children Check and be committed to safeguarding and promoting the safety, welfare and well-being of children and young people
