The Role
Due to an internal change, we’re looking for an accomplished Investment Operations Leader to head up an established team and manage the complexities of investment operations within the fund. You will play a key role in supporting the investment function, executing strategy and managing compliance, risk and governance in the investment operations space.
What you’ll do:
- Oversee the production of daily unit prices including the completion of cashflow instructions to the custodian and the calculation and monitoring of investment accruals in accordance with the Unit Pricing Policy and ASIC/APRA guideline to good practice.
- Lead and manage the relationship with the custodian, including setting and managing the custodian to KPIs that support the changing needs of the business.
- Monitor the changing risks of the existing custodian’s business and actively challenge the risk mitigations in place.
- Lead, manage and develop technical functions across investment implementation, accounting and tax, treasury and cash positions and investment reporting (APRA and performance).
- Manage the process for valuations and run the Valuation Assurance Committee including paper production, chairing the meeting and ensuring all delegations under the valuation policy are executed and reported appropriately
- Manage the administration of internal investment vehicles
- Formulate the Fund’s Investment Fee and Cost budget and monitor progress against fee objectives.
- Oversee the provision of reliable, timely and transparent investment reporting.
- Lead and develop the team, fostering a positive culture and supporting the team through change.
You will bring the following key skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in law, finance, business or accounting. Masters in management, investments or finance will be highly regarded.
- Proven extensive experience within the investment area, preferably within Superannuation, Investment Banking or Investment Operations.
- Strong risk, compliance and governance understanding.
- Experience with Boards and Committees in a financial services environment.
- Current knowledge of the superannuation industry, regulation and legislative frameworks.
