The Head of Office is an integral member of the Forestry Industry Division's senior leadership team, providing strategic advice and support to the Head of Forestry Industry. The role has a varied workload directed by the key priorities facing the group, supports teams to deliver outcomes and contributes to organisational capability uplift.
The Head of Office will lead a high performing support team, Office of the Head of Forestry Industry, and take a key role in a breadth of corporate activities including public administration, human resources, strategic governance, communications and media, culture, coordination, and ministerial liaison services.
The successful applicant will possess extensive experience in working across government, in a complex environment, with senior stakeholders to influence and enable the delivery of organisational outcomes. The ideal candidate will be naturally collaborative and display sound judgment, high level leadership, exceptional stakeholder and communication skills, proven change management skills, and have a proven capacity to manage complex and competing demands in a fast-paced environment.
Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications
- Experience in public administration and governance within a related portfolio content would be well regarded.
- Experience as a senior leader with a proven record of management and support in a large and complex organisation is essential, including management of sensitive issues and information.
- Demonstrated experience working cross functionally and cross-enterprise with people at an executive level to support the delivery of organisational reform strategies and programs.
- An understanding of the processes and levers that apply to Government is essential.
This is an ongoing position. The work location for this position is flexible within Victoria with hybrid work arrangements available.
