About the role

The Health Promotion Practitioner position is responsible for the planning, evaluation and delivery of primary prevention projects across the Yarra Ranges. The Grade 2 Health Promotion Practitioner reports to the Senior Health Promotion Practitioner and works with a small team planning, delivering and evaluating the strategies outlined in Eastern Health’s annual Health Promotion action plan.

The Grade 2 position also has additional responsibilities such as supervising junior staff members or students as directed, and independently managing your own portfolio and work with a broad range of stakeholders and partners both internal to Eastern Health and external.

About you

To be successful in this role you will possess:

• A tertiary qualification in Health Promotion, Public Health or another relevant qualification

• Advanced skills in the development, implementation and evaluation of health promotion initiatives

• Strong understanding of the social model of health, the determinants of health and their impact on communities and populations

• Strong written/verbal communication skills

• The ability to work independently and as part of a diverse team
