Position Outcomes / Accountabilities

  • Contribute to the preparation of nomination documents, policy advice, and draft World Heritage Management Plans
  • Deliver high-quality reports, briefs, and correspondence for key stakeholders
  • Support effective consultation with partners and coordination of site visits
  • Help define boundaries for nominations in line with heritage and government requirements
  • Assist with broader heritage integration across government policy initiatives

The successful candidate will bring a solid foundation in policy design and development, underpinned by an ability to interpret legislation, gather and analyse data, and apply findings to draft meaningful, outcomes-focused policy. You will be a critical thinker who approaches complex problems with clarity and structure, resolving issues within established guidelines or, where necessary, identifying new approaches to achieve project objectives. Strong stakeholder management skills are essential; you’ll build and sustain productive relationships with project partners, government agencies and community groups, responding to diverse priorities and needs. You will also demonstrate practical experience in coordinating project tasks and monitoring progress, contributing to the delivery of high-quality outcomes in a structured, team-based environment.

On a personal level, the ideal candidate is adaptable, collaborative and proactive. You are comfortable navigating changing priorities and working with teams across departments or sectors. You build trust, share knowledge generously, and foster a cooperative team culture. Your calm, flexible approach helps others stay focused and productive — even when timelines tighten, or challenges arise.
