The Workforce, People and Culture (WPC) Directorate is responsible for the provision of workforce consultancy services to the district. We work in partnership with the executive team, managers, and employees to ensure the delivery of innovative and sustainable workforce solutions across the district. Our range of services include recruitment; workforce design, workforce policies and procedures; awards and determinations; Industrial Relations advice and representation; and other service offerings provided by our diverse teams. Our People and Culture team is collaborative and focused on delivering a rewarding experience to all employees.
We are looking for a strategic and proactive Workforce Projects, Policy and Planning Officer to join our team and drive initiatives that make a lasting impact. The position is responsible for coordinating the strategic planning, development and review of workforce frameworks, policies and processes. It will also focus on implementation of strategies that support the business objectives and key workforce challenges.
Key to your success is having strong organisational and project management skills in contributing to multiple complex and sensitive workforce projects whilst managing competing deadlines. In this position, you will utilise your comprehensive knowledge and experience on policies and legislative/regulative requirements pertaining to employment and workforce related matters in order to assist in the delivery of the projects and planning functions and provide support and advice to stakeholders on workforce planning and organisational design.

What you will bring to the role:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in human resources, organisational development and/or equivalent practical experience together with extensive experience in a large diverse multidisciplinary organisation.
- Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of policies and legislative/regulative requirements pertaining to employment and workforce related matters, with the ability to manage projects from end to end.
- Demonstrated skills and experience in the development of workforce policies, procedures, strategies, projects, and initiatives including implementation and monitoring.
- Demonstrated experience and understanding of workforce planning, including workforce planning methodologies and workforce strategies.
- Highly developed verbal and written communication skills, negotiation skills with the ability to build, lead and actively maintain positive relationships with key personnel both internal and external to achieve positive outcomes.
- Well-developed organisational skills, with the capacity to manage multiple projects, prioritise, multi-task and achieve business objectives in a high volume and demanding professional environment.
- Ability to work independently with limited direction as to work priorities with demonstrated experience managing and meeting deadlines whilst maintaining meticulous attention to detail and meet predetermined targets and deadlines.
- High level analytical and problem-solving skills that facilitates the development, implementation and continual monitoring of workforce projects.
