HRT Case Manager (Identified)

We have an incredible opportunity within our Domestic and Family Violence (DFV) High-Risk Team covering the Townsville District.

This is an identified position for Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander candidates.

Take up a role that makes a difference!

• This is a hands-on role that works with victim/survivors of DFV.
• You will provide case coordination for those at high and imminent risk of DFV.
• This includes support to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander clients, providing immediate assistance, risk assessment, safety planning, referrals, and ongoing support.
• You will also provide cultural oversight and direction across DVNQ to ensure accountability and inform best practice when working with Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander peoples.
• You will work collaboratively with team members and other organisations to increase DFV understanding to build a consistent and timely response across the Townsville Region.

Salary and Benefits

• SCHADS Level 5.1, full time (38 hours per week)
• Relocation package subject to negotiation
• Salary Sacrifice options up to $15,900 (superannuation can be paid in addition to this, subject to any ATO limit where applicable)

About you

We can’t wait to hear from candidates who are able to meet the following Key Selection Criteria:

• Identifies as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait decent.
• Degree level qualification in a relevant human services discipline (or 5 years’ experience in a similar field will be considered).
• Demonstrated experience and comprehensive knowledge of Domestic and Family Violence, including the principles of trauma-informed practice, crisis intervention, case management, application of appropriate risk assessment and response and understanding of high-risk indicators and protective factors.
• Advanced experience working with current legislation (Domestic and Family Violence Act 2012, Child Protection Act 1999), Common Risk Assessment Framework and DFV Information Sharing Guidelines.
• Able to communicate effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and have knowledge of both cultures and societies from a historical and contemporary perspective to provide culturally appropriate advice.
• High level of cultural expertise of family structures, cultural practices and protocols and knowledge of community connections.
• Able to bring knowledge of intersectionality and diversity to develop and maintain respectful relationships with clients and across the service system and community.
• Proficient at building and fostering relationships and partnership, sharing knowledge, and delivering training to build the capacity of the sector.
• Provides information about the organisation and the service system in a way that is sensitive, simple, clear, transparent, and appropriate in language and level of information.
• Highly organised, able to plan, prioritise, be flexible, and manage competing tasks, with a positive, can-do, and resourceful approach.
• Emotionally intelligent and aware, with a keen sense of critical self-reflection, able to keep a sense of perspective about the stories heard and remain connected as part of a resilient approach.

Required competencies:

• Proactive ability to seek out opportunities to maintain current knowledge about emerging evidence and trends and synthesises and translates information for peer learning.
• Able to foster positive community and stakeholder relationships and demonstrates leadership with public, community, and business groups to advocate and educate.
• Advanced ability to engage in critical reflection and support the development of practice accountability across the team and continuous improvement to ensure alignment with practice standards.
• Highly competent with technology e.g., Microsoft suite of programs, and the ability to work within various databases.
• Ability to produce documents to a high standard such as resources, templates & reports.
• High-level of ability to manage constant demands, dealing with the unexpected whilst remaining calm and focused, with a positive, can-do, and resourceful approach and supports others to do the same.
• Personal values are strongly aligned to organisational values and strategic plan and supports others to remain connected to purpose.

Required screening:

• Current QLD C Class Driver’s License which must remain current during the term of employment.
• Working with Children Check (Blue Card) which must remain current during the term of employment.
• Australia: National Police Check Clearance – at organisation expense.

Pay: $51.00 – $53.31 per hour
