Job Description:
The position primarily supports a key segment of our organisations portfolio in Australia, working as part of a global diverse team driving our people strategy.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
In the Humans Resources generalist position you will perform a variety of HR duties of moderate complexity under general supervision and will be expected to apply demonstrated knowledge of HR policies and procedures.
Responsibilities vary, but may include any of the following:
Provide direction and communicate changes to employees and leaders in interpretation and application of employee-related policies, practices and procedures, as well as international laws if applicable, governmental regulations, and internal investigations to enhance consistency and maintain and improve the work environment of the department across Asia Pacific.
Assist leaders in addressing individual and organizational effectiveness issues
Develop and provide leadership, advice and education in areas such as: individual leadership development planning, general development planning input, new leader coaching and development, meaningful work, cultural change initiatives, and talent development
Prepare course material to further enhance our Leaders skills and run leadership training sessions.
Trusted advisor to leadership team within Caterpillar
Deploy strategic HR and diversity and inclusion initiatives to improve department results
Ability to create, maintain and deliver a change management and communication plan for project work.
Primarily manage a work unit of management/professional employees.
Oversee all communication activities for a specific business unit in Australia
Qualifications:
University degree or equivalent experience in required field.
Prior working experience in human resources function
Must be proficient in the full MS office suite
Must have full working rights
Top candidates will have the following skills and attributes:
Knowledge of countries’ labor laws and regulations governing the Human Resources function.
Sound understanding of human resources policies, practices, and procedures.
Effective communicator with the ability to work across all levels of the organisation.
Excellent customer service.
Demonstrated ability to analyse situations, make decisions and take measured risks using available data as well as insight.
Proven ability to maintain high-level of confidentiality and dealing with sensitive issues.
Exposure to total rewards procedures is highly desirable
Must have a good communication skill both written and verbal
Experience with Workday, Teams and SharePoint is desired or other similar people management systems
