About the Role
Forensicare’s Community Forensic Mental Health Services (CFMHS) provides programs and services for people who have a serious mental illness who have offended, or are at risk of offending, as well as those transitioning from Thomas Embling Hospital and Prisons into the community.
The Manager is responsible for leading and supporting a team to improve outcomes for consumers with offending risks and mental illness or problem behaviours and their families and carers.
As the Hume Manager will provide high level management, clinical, and forensic expertise to the regional team of Multidisciplinary professionals.
As the CFMHS Manager, you will:
• Provide high level management, clinical, and forensic expertise to the regional team.
• Oversee the ongoing development and implementation of the service model for regional forensic mental health services
• Coordinate the delivery of the regional team’s interventions and reports.
• Lead the multidisciplinary team clinical review.
• Oversee consumer risk management plans
• Coordinate the implementation and operation of the regional team in conjunction with the Consultant Psychiatrist .
• Provide high level advice to the Executive Director Community Operations and Director of Clinical Services on emerging issues likely to impact on the regional team.
• Contribute at a senior level to strategic planning and service development activities.
• Lead organisational change and service improvement within with the regional team.
• Coordinate, promote, champion and lead service development processes, including staff training, with demonstrable benefits for consumers, their families and carers, and the organisation
About You:
• Demonstrated commitment to mental health consumer recovery and incorporating consumer perspectives into service delivery.
• Possession of a relevant tertiary qualification and registration or membership with the appropriate Board or Association as a Registered Nurse, Psychologist, Social Worker or Occupational Therapist.
• Demonstrated minimum 10-year post registration mental health experience.
• Demonstrated ability to coordinate a multi-disciplinary team and lead complex programs effectively and efficiently.
• Extensive experience in undertaking comprehensive psychosocial and risk assessments, and in the planning, implementation and evaluation of clinical mental health interventions.
• Highly developed and effective written and verbal communication skills including the ability to consult, liaise, facilitate and negotiate with key stakeholders, mental health professionals, clients, and carers.
• Extensive knowledge of relevant legislation, mental health and criminal justice systems
