Location: Melbourne, Australia
- Acting as the primary technical point of contact for clients on matters related to the design of hydraulic structures.
- Leading or supporting the development of technical studies locally, including preparation of reports, calculation notes, and technical memos.
- Reviewing and validating specific project deliverables as required.
- Participating in and leading internal and external technical meetings with clients and partners, addressing technical, administrative, and contractual matters in coordination with the Project Manager.
- Organizing and contributing to technical workshops related to project topics.
- Coordinating effectively between client requirements and Tractebel’s design teams, distinguishing which topics can be handled locally and which require input or validation from central engineering teams.
- Conducting occasional site visits for inspections, as needed .
- Supporting the Business Development team by participating in client meetings, building relationships with partners, and promoting Tractebel’s technical expertise across various domains. Assisting in bid preparation, including the development of technical methodologies and estimating effort and timelines for specific tasks.
Assignment Scope & Workload Expectations:
At the start of the assignment, the workload is expected to be evenly split, with 50% allocated to technical activities (including involvement in the Snowy 2.0 project) and 50% to support the business development and project acquisition efforts.
As Tractebel’s operations in Australia expand, the role is expected to transition progressively towards a predominantly technical focus .
The position will also involve regular short-term travel (typically less than one week) for site visits or client meetings. On average, 50% of the time will be spent in the office , with the remaining 50% dedicated to field or external engagements.
