Overview
We are seeking an Impairment Benefits Specialist (IBS) to join our team. As an IBS, you will be a point of expertise within Gallagher Bassett's Workers Compensation team relating to Impairment Benefits and Permanent Impairment claims.
In this highly technical role, you will manage the end-to-end impairment determination process for injured workers in accordance with legislative requirements. Your acute attention to detail, and sound decision making within Workers Compensation legislative frameworks will be key attributes contributing to your success in this position.
How you'll make an impact
Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing a portfolio of impairment benefit claims which include reviewing clinical information, arranging impairment assessments with relevant documentation, issuing the decision in line with legislative timeframes, and processing any lump sum entitlements
- Attending conciliation conferences
- Attending internal and external training courses to update technical knowledge and personal development
About you
We’re looking for a claims expert who possesses:
- Experience within Worker’s Compensation Industry, specifically within an Impairment Benefits or claims management related role. Completion of AMA4 training is preferred.
- Attention to detail and critical thinking skills
- Industry specific qualifications: VWA and TAC Industry Training Programs are desirable
- Excellent customer service skills, communication and interpersonal skills
