Primary objective
Under the direction of the Senior Admin Support Officer and Officer in Charge (OIC) of the Alice Springs Police Station,
provide general labouring services and support to the Alice Springs Police Services buildings and grounds.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Arrange the supply and delivery of the Watch House Cells linen.
2. Detail (wash and clean) PFES vehicles as required.
3. Maintain and clean station equipment, mowers and trailers etc.
4. Perform routine building and grounds maintenance and gardening duties as directed.
5. Maintain PFES accommodation ensuring grounds maintenance, supply of linen, cleaning materials, etc.
6. Assist Property Officer with delivery and storage of property, and handling of confidential material.
7. Collection and delivery of PFES Stores or internal furniture and equipment to various locations as required.
8. Rubbish removal and motor vehicle recovery or maintenance.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. Experience in cleaning, building and ground maintenance, including experience in use of power tools.
2. Proven ability to maintain confidentiality.
3. Reliability and willingness to work as part of a team.
4. Self-motivation, good organisational skills and ability to work with minimal supervision and accept direction.
5. Ability to communicate effectively with other staff and members of the public.
6. Willingness to adhere to workplace health and safety guidelines.
7. Current Driver’s licence, or the ability to obtain prior to service.
8. Sound knowledge of the principles of Equity and Diversity and Occupational Health and Safety.
Desirable
1. Statement of Attainment in Chainsaw Operation or ability to obtain
2. First Aid Certificate
