The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity exists within Food Services to join us as Infant Nutrition Project Support Officer.

The incumbent of this role will work 28 hours per fortnight across a 7-day roster, shift times will be 12noon – 4pm.

In this role, you will:

  • Assist with the implementation of the GIFT trial and related human milk research projects at WCHN.
  • Coordinate daily operation of GIFT trial milk related tasks including ordering and receiving PDHM from Lifeblood, receiving and checking individual infant milk order forms for accuracy, preparing milk orders as per individual forms, monitoring compliance with relevant aspects of the department's Food Safety Plan and keeping accurate records of milk orders as required.
  • Work with the Kitchen Operations Manager and Quality and Training Officer to develop and review Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Plan and support quality improvement changes to systems and processes to improve efficiency and cost-effectiveness, then implement and evaluate the changes.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Certificate IV, Diploma or higher in a relevant field of study; or have completed the first year of Nutrition/Dietetics/Nursing undergraduate degree; or relevant training with a recognised training provider (e.g. food safety training, infection control training.)
  • Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with staff at all levels, cultures and backgrounds.
  • Relevant experience in a nutrition support/food service/ward environment in a healthcare setting.
  • Knowledge of infection control in a food service/healthcare setting.
