Join a passionate People & Culture team at RSPCA Queensland and play a key role in supporting the wellbeing of our employees and volunteers across the state!
About the Role
We’re looking for a compassionate and experienced Injury Management Partner to lead and coordinate proactive return-to-work strategies across RSPCA Qld. Reporting to the WHS Manager, you’ll be the go-to person for all things injury management—supporting early intervention, collaborating with People Leaders, and helping injured team members get back on track.
This is a dynamic role where no two days are the same. You’ll work closely with external providers, develop practical recovery plans, and contribute to improvements in our injury management systems—all while making a difference in a mission-driven organisation.
Your Key Responsibilities
As our Injury Management Partner, you’ll be at the heart of our health and wellbeing strategy—proactively supporting RSPCA Qld’s employees and volunteers through every stage of their recovery journey. Your role will combine empathy, expertise, and strategic thinking to support safe and sustainable return-to-work outcomes.
- Your day-to-day might include:
- Driving a positive safety culture by promoting early intervention and psychologically safe practices across teams and departments
- Managing end-to-end injury cases (both work and non-work related), supporting injured employees and volunteers through timely communication, tailored planning, and compassionate care
- Partnering with leaders to equip them with the knowledge, resources, and confidence to support their team members through recovery and return-to-work processes
- Collaborating with medical providers and rehabilitation specialists to coordinate appropriate treatment and develop practical, achievable recover-at-work plans
- Ensuring compliance and accuracy through detailed record-keeping, case documentation, claims coordination, and liaising with insurance providers (e.g., WorkCover, volunteer insurance)
- Reviewing data and identifying trends to contribute to continuous improvement in systems, processes, and injury prevention strategies
- Supporting the People & Culture team, contributing to broader wellbeing and operational initiatives that align with RSPCA Qld’s mission
About You
You're more than just experienced—you’re someone who genuinely cares. You understand the importance of early intervention, clear communication, and the human side of injury management. You build trust with ease, communicate with clarity, and always work with integrity and compassion.
- To thrive in this role, you’ll bring:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Injury Management, Workplace Health & Safety, Allied Health, Rehabilitation, or a related field
- Proven experience managing injury cases—including workers’ compensation, non-work injuries, and return-to-work programs (experience supporting volunteers is a bonus)
- Strong interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence and coach leaders in a constructive, professional way
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical thinking, helping you tailor solutions that balance organisational goals with the needs of individuals
- Attention to detail and strong organisational skills, with the ability to juggle multiple cases while staying calm under pressure
- A collaborative mindset, willing to step in and support your team when needed, and share knowledge freely
- A genuine commitment to animal welfare and alignment with RSPCA Qld’s mission, vision, and values
