The role
We are seeking either a part time or full- time passionate and culturally aware mentor to join our team - This role will be based in Mossman 3 days per week, if the successful candidate is looking for full time work then the other 2 days would be based in Mareeba
As a job mentor, you will walk alongside our First Nations jobseekers, offering tailored mentoring, guidance, and advocacy throughout their employment journey.

- Build strong, respectful relationships with First Nations job seekers
- Provide individualised mentoring and coaching to support work readiness
- Assist clients in identifying career goals and developing job plans
- Connect job seekers with suitable training, employment, and community support services
- Liaise with employers to support sustainable employment outcomes
- Maintain accurate records and comply with Workforce Australia contractual obligations
About you
- Proven experience in mentoring or coaching individuals in a professional setting
- Identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander/ or have experience working in a culturally competent manner
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to provide constructive feedback and guidance to support First Nations Jobseekers
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team and independently to manage a caseload
- Strong organisational and time management abilities
- Empathy and patience when working with individuals from diverse backgrounds
- Knowledge of local industry-specific job requirements and career pathways is an advantage
- Experience in creating personalised job plans for individuals
- Experience in either employment services, youth work, community services or mentoring highly regarded
- Proficiency in using relevant mentoring tools and software
- Must have WWCC and be able to satisfactorily pass a police check and have a current drivers licence
