Position Description
We are looking for an experienced Joinery & Carpentry Site Consultant to join our friendly team on a full-time basis. The role is based at our NSW location. In this role, you will be responsible for the following:
- Operating woodworking machinery and hood tools to cut, shape and assemble timber and manufactured board into high-quality joinery components
- Preparing detailed cutting lists and layouts for production
- Site joinery inspections / service work & reporting /site resolutions
- Performing skilled joinery re-works, modifications, and repairs as required to meet quality standards and project specifications.
- Travelling to WA as required for training / team building/ functions etc.
- Inspecting raw materials and finished components to ensure they meet quality standards and dimensions before installation.
- Perform on-site repairs and maintenance for timber joinery
- Site measuring / entering data into Project Manager.
- Studying architectural plans and specifications to perform site measurements and determine material requirements.
- Warehouse upkeep & co-ordination
- Pro-active networking with aligned sites/builders for future Joinery Sales leads
- Managing joinery dispatch & receivals at warehouse in Alexandria
About You
To be considered for this role, you will need to have the following skills and attributes;
- Proficiency in operating a wide range of woodworking machinery and hand tools, including table saws, routers, sanders, and precision measuring instruments.
- Advanced ability to read and interpret architectural drawings, specifications, and cutting lists.
- Expertise in joinery construction techniques, including cutting precise joints, laminating, veneering, and assembling complex components.
- Extensive knowledge of timber properties, manufactured boards (MDF, plywood), veneers, and modern joinery hardware.
- Demonstrated skill in diagnosing faults and performing high-quality repairs, re-works, and on-site modifications.
- High degree of accuracy in conducting site measurements and translating them into production-ready plans.
- Meticulous attention to detail with a strong commitment to producing high-quality workmanship and finishes.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities to effectively troubleshoot issues both in the workshop and on-site.
- A strong awareness of and commitment to Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) standards at all times.
- Ability to work autonomously and manage time effectively to meet strict project deadlines.
- Good physical fitness and manual dexterity required for handling materials and performing intricate tasks.
- A proactive and solutions-focused mindset.
