Girton Grammar School is seeking an experienced administrator to join our school community as the Junior School Receptionist, First Aid and Absentees Officer.
Enjoy a great work-life balance with a term-time only role—work during school terms and take school holidays as leave (in exception to the two paid work weeks during the school holidays included in this position). This is a full-time, ongoing position.

The Receptionist is responsible for greeting guests, ensuring they have been signed in, directing them to appropriate areas, managing phone calls, and facilitating communication between various stakeholders. Essential Qualifications and Key Selection Criteria
- Demonstrated experience in delivering exceptional customer service in a front-facing role with the ability to create a welcoming and friendly atmosphere for students, parents, staff, and visitors, enhancing their overall experience.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with diverse stakeholders, addressing inquiries, and providing accurate information with the ability to communicate professionally and clearly over the phone, in person, and through written correspondence.
- Proven capacity to manage front desk operations efficiently, handle multiple tasks simultaneously, and prioritize activities in a fast-paced environment including skill in maintaining records, managing appointments, and ensuring a streamlined flow of information.
- Keen eye for detail when managing administrative tasks, documentation, and data entry to ensure accuracy and thoroughness.
- Resourceful and proactive approach to resolving queries, issues, and unexpected situations that may arise at the front desk while remaining composed under pressure and finding suitable solutions to address diverse needs.
- Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with the utmost discretion and professionalism with an ethical approach to handling information related to students, parents, and staff members.
- Proficiency in using office software and technology tools for tasks such as managing schedules, responding to emails, and maintaining databases.
- Willingness to collaborate with colleagues, teachers, and administrators to ensure smooth communication and coordination across the school.
