Are you passionate about keeping families together and creating brighter futures for vulnerable children? Baptcare's Community Services team is seeking a dedicated Kinship Care Practitioner to make a meaningful difference in our Western community.
About the Role
As our Kinship Care Practitioner, you'll support children placed with extended family members or close family friends, ensuring they receive the care, stability, and love they deserve. You'll work directly with kinship carers, providing essential guidance, resources, and advocacy while navigating complex family dynamics with compassion and professionalism.
What You'll Do
- Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop tailored support plans
- Provide ongoing case management and crisis intervention
- Facilitate family meetings and mediate challenging conversations
- Connect families with community resources and support services
- Collaborate with courts, schools, and healthcare providers
- Maintain detailed documentation and compliance standards
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology, or related field
- Experience in child protection, family services, or community work
- Strong assessment, communication, and relationship-building skills
- Understanding of trauma-informed practice and cultural sensitivity
- Current Working with Children Check and driver's license
- Commitment to Baptcare's Christian values and community-focused approach
