Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lab Manager for our Embryology Laboratory in Adelaide. The successful candidate will lead our team of embryologists and oversee all aspects of laboratory operations to ensure the highest standards of quality and efficiency in assisted reproductive procedures.
- Manage daily operations of the embryology laboratory, including staff scheduling, quality control, and inventory management
- Oversee and perform advanced embryology techniques, including IVF, ICSI, and embryo biopsy
- Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) to maintain compliance with regulatory requirements
- Analyze and report laboratory performance metrics, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient care and treatment outcomes
- Train and mentor junior embryologists, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development
- Manage laboratory budget, including equipment procurement and maintenance planning
- Stay current with advancements in the field of assisted reproductive technologies and implement new techniques as appropriate
Qualifications
- Master's or Ph.D. in Embryology, Reproductive Biology, or related field
- Minimum 5 years of experience in embryology laboratory settings
- Previous management or supervisory experience in a clinical laboratory
- Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA) certification
- Extensive knowledge of embryology techniques, including IVF, ICSI, and embryo cryopreservation
- Strong understanding of quality control and assurance protocols in clinical laboratories
- Proficiency in data analysis and reporting
- Excellent leadership and team management skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
