The Role
U@MQ is currently seeking a Learn to Swim Supervisor to join our Macquarie University Sports and Aquatics Centre (MUSAC) team. Reporting to the Aquatics Coordinator, the Learn to Swim Supervisors are responsible for day to day running of the learn to swim program. The hours will be spread across weekdays and one weekend day.
This position has become available following an internal promotion, offering an exciting opportunity for a new team member to step into a supervisory role within our award-winning swim school.

In this role, you will:
- Provide high quality in-water learn to swim and water safety instruction consistent with MUSACs Learn to Swim program lesson and progression plans.
- Supervise and ensure the smooth delivery of Learn to Swim lessons being conducted whilst maintaining a maximum level of customer service to parents and swimmers.
- Identify and resolve complaints promptly, ensuring positive customer service outcomes.
- Assist in identifying training needs for the Learn to Swim program, and provide coaching to Learn to Swim instructors to ensure skill levels are maintained at required standards.
- Support initiatives that foster team cohesion and performance, such as recognition awards and strong communication.
- Assist in the planning and delivery of other Learn to Swim program initiatives such as School Sport, Holiday Program water safety, and member retention activities.
- Assist the Learn to Swim Coordinator with the general management of the program including rostering, timetabling, enquiries, and issue resolution appropriate to this role.
- Comply with relevant EEO and WHS regulations.
- Perform any other duties as required and appropriate for this classification.

ABOUT YOU
You have a customer centric mindset combined with a passion for swimming and teaching. You have the ability to work well in a team environment, as well as initiative to work independently.
In addition, you meet the following selection criteria:
- Experience teaching Learn to Swim (LTS) and water safety across all levels and age groups.
- Strong planning and organising skills, ideally including swim programming.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, with proven customer service and problem-solving ability.
- Ability to problem solve quickly and constructively.
- Enthusiasm, energy, and a genuine passion for teaching swimming to children.
- Supervisory experience (desirable).
Regulatory requirements:
- AUSTSWIM or Swim Australia Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety
- First Aid Certificate with CPR
- Working with Children Check
- Criminal history check
- AUSTSWIM or Swim Australia Teacher of Infants and Preschool is desirable, but not mandatory.
- Work hours will vary from time to time to accommodate business needs. Must be available to work weekdays and weekends.
