Cloncurry Shire Council is seeking a Library Officer to join our team at the Bob McDonald Library. This is a Full-Time Fixed Term position until June 2026, after which it will transition to Part-Time.

- Full-time, fixed-term position until June 2026 aligned with the QLD Local Government Industry ( Stream A - Level 3)- $69,000-$73,000 ( based on qualifications and experience)+Superannuation
- 5 weeks Annual Leave (with 17.5% Leave Loading)

- Remote Area Housing Assistance ($60 pw Renting / $90 pw Homeowner)

About the Role
We are seeking a friendly and motivated Library Officer to support the daily operations of the Bob McDonald Library and the Dr David Harvey-Sutton Gallery. In this full-time, fixed-term role, you’ll play an important part in assisting with customer service, programs, exhibitions, administration, and community engagement.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide friendly and professional support to library and gallery visitors
- Assist with day-to-day library operations, including loans, returns, shelving, and displays.
- Deliver and support programs such as Storytime, Coding & Robotics, Tech-Savvy Seniors, and holiday activities
- Perform general administrative tasks including receipting, reporting, and maintaining records
- Assist with exhibitions and gallery events, including setup and visitor support
- Maintain accurate library membership records and usage statistics
- Work collaboratively with internal teams and external stakeholders, including volunteers and community groups
- Help ensure the library and gallery are clean, safe, and welcoming for all
Qualifications & Requirements
- Year 12 education or equivalent experience.
- Current ‘C’ class manual driver’s license.
- Ability to obtain a Blue Card (Working with Children).
- Police clearance (or ability to obtain).
- Qualification in Library and Information Services or relevant experience (desirable)
- Eligibility for library technician membership of the Australian Library and Information Association (desirable).
