About the role
The Machine Operator role is a Full-Time Waged position, based at Cecil Park, NSW. Reporting to Manufacturing Manager you will be operating counterbalance forklifts to transfer pallets of bricks from different processing areas to the inventory storage yard. Operating multiple machines, fault finding and performing quality control checks will be part of your routine too.
- Operate a 5-ton counterbalance forklift within designated process areas.
- Perform tasks requiring high proficiency in forklift operation with a strong focus on safety.
- Work on a rotating roster (6 days a week), alternating between day and night shifts over a three-week pattern.
- Manual Handling tasks including loading/unloading equipment with packing materials, lifting, and inspecting bricks from the process line.
- Always wear proper PPE and ensure it's in good condition.
- Follow lock out/tag out and isolation procedures.
- Keep your area clean and dispose of waste properly.
- Inspect bricks for defects and sort accordingly.
- Cover breaks for other operators when needed.
- Assist with breakdowns activities.
- Other tasks assigned within your training/skill level.
You will be working six days a week on rotating day and night shifts, with shifts lasting 10-11 hours and a shorter Friday night shift; the roster changes every three weeks.
What you bring to the role
- Valid forklift license with demonstrated experience operating counterbalance forklifts.
- A great work ethic and strong commitment to safe work practices & high regard for safety
- Experience in a warehouse or in a similar role is desirable
- A strong commitment to safety awareness
- Willingness to learn and absorb new information and skills
- Ability to work unsupervised and as part of a team
