The Department of Justice and Community Safety (the department) is seeking a Manager, Asset Management, to provide a critical role within Finance and Procurement - Procurement and Property Services.
About the Business Unit
The Department of Justice and Community Safety (the department) delivers a justice and community safety system that works to build a safer, fairer, and stronger Victoria.
The Finance and Procurement business unit provides department-wide financial, procurement and workplace services through strategic leadership and setting the direction, policy, and processes, and partnering with the department to build capability.
Procurement and Property Services monitors and reports on procurement performance and manages several high-profile strategic projects to minimise procurement risk and support the delivery of value for money. It is also responsible for the effective operation and management of asset maintenance, fleet and property, and facilities management services across the department.
About the Role
This role leads the Asset Management team which is responsible for delivering efficient and timely asset management and facilities services that support the strategic planning objectives of the department, administer and contract manage service arrangements and meet all statutory obligations in respect of asset management. The team works closely with other teams in the branch to support delivery of the department's strategic objectives through provision of procurement and property services.
Some of your duties will include:
- Work with service providers, senior managers and the Executive Director, Procurement and Property Service to lead advanced expertise and knowledge in asset management activities including strategic planning, acquisition, maintenance and disposal, development of capital plans and strategies to support high level decisions that impart on the department's strategic asset management plan and objectives.
- Provide oversight over the Asset Management Accountability Framework attestation process.
- Manage risks, issues and operational performance of assets.

About you
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Facilities management with operational expertise highly desirable.
- High level experience in developing and leading major policy initiatives in areas of asset maintenance and management.
- Knowledge of the Building Code of Australia Act and relevant Australian Standards regarding asset maintenance and management; Ability to use the information to respond and provide guidance and leadership to stakeholders.
- Subject matter expert in the area of asset maintenance, management and facilities management.
Qualifications
- A relevant tertiary qualification (engineering, asset management, facilities, service delivery or contract management highly desirable).
