How you'll make a difference

Under your expert guidance, Council’s capital works program will be delivered on-time, on-budget and in line with community expectations. Your capacity to determine and monitor Council’s asset renewal requirements will inform reliable strategic asset management, planning and investment.

You will lead and manage Council’s waste services program, one of our key functions and important services to the community. Your sound judgement will allow you to understand and prioritise competing demands and focus on what’s important.

Our ideal candidate

To excel in this role, you will have strong experience in waste practices or project management, with demonstrated experience in a leadership role managing multidisciplinary teams and a sound understanding of the legislative framework. You should have a proven ability to manage change, build strong teams, and develop effective strategies. Your high level of financial literacy, combined with your sound judgment, will allow you to understand and prioritize competing demands and focus on what’s important.

Your skills will include:

  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills are essential
  • a commitment to continuous improvement and strategic thinking
  • Previous experience in waste management, asset management, or a related field
