Manager Credit Risk Analytics

Great Southern Bank is seeking a Manager, Credit Risk Analytics to execute the credit risk optimisation strategy for the organisation. You will bring a highly quantitative approach to the role, being data-led and leveraging the collective strengths and insights of the Credit Risk team.

In this role you will work with internal and external partners to optimise end-end credit lifecycle insights across all lending products, to help shape, inform and develop strategies to further optimise lending through credit risk models, automation, tools and practices.

This position is open to candidates located in Brisbane and Sydney, offering you the flexibility to work from home two days a week.

You’ll make an impact by:

  • Developing and designing regular reporting and analysis relating to application trends, new originations, and portfolio outcomes.
  • Contribute to the development of credit risk strategies to support the bank’s objectives with respect to customers, risk appetite, profitability and growth.
  • Optimise end-to-end credit acquisitions including the use of scorecards, serviceability, business/system rules, lending origination tools, credit engines, and other automation tools.
  • Ensure effective monitoring is in place for credit models, lending flows, portfolio concentrations and risk limits.
  • Provide thought leadership across teams including Risk, Products, Projects and Data to influence effective design and delivery of leading loan origination pathways.


Do things differently with us

To succeed in this role, you will have:

  • 5+ years’ experience in credit risk management roles within Financial Services.
  • Proficient with data extraction, manipulation, and analysis (DataBricks and or SQL is essential).
  • Strong understanding of commonly used credit tools and decision engines and how to create the best value through their use.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Familiarity with the Australian market, regulations (APRA, ASIC, AFCA).
