This is a key role ensuring compliance with statutory maintenance as well as safe, compliant and efficient maintenance across building, plant and equipment asset classes within a healthcare setting. What you'll be doing
The Manager Maintenance Operations is a central reporting and management point for maintenance services in Northern Sydney Local Health District (NSLHD). The Manager Maintenance Operations manages site/service engineering teams and is responsible for the delivery of building, plant and equipment maintenance services, ensuring compliance with statutory, regulatory and legislative requirements as well as NSW Health asset management policy and NSLHD strategic objectives. The role is responsible for developing, enhancing and overseeing achievement of a program of planned maintenance that ensures and extends the lifecycle of assets and equipment and is based on best practice maintenance planning principles, effective communication, efficient allocation of resources and analytics from asset management information systems. The role is responsible for ensuring NSLHD’s maintenance activities support achievement of performance, reliability, compliance, budgetary and health and safety targets. The role manages NSLHD maintenance staff, trades and contractors; provides technical support for facilities management processes; provides advice where required for District planning purposes; and ensures NSLHD records accurate and consistent data as necessary. It will also ensure a strong culture of risk management and work, health and safety practice. The role will work closely with the broader NSLHD Asset Management team in maturing operational components of asset and facilities management, while also maintaining strong relationships as a service provider across NSLHD sites and services.

Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:

  • Outline your tertiary, vocational or trade-based qualifications in an engineering discipline, facilities management and/or extensive experience in the management of building service operations and maintenance works on assets, as they relate to property, building, plant, equipment & engineering systems in a health or complex environment.
  • Detail your knowledge/experience around compliance requirements, legal and policy obligations, including a strong understanding of statutory requirements, including WHS and Safe Work Practices, relating to building services and operations.
  • Provide an example of when you have demonstrated your skills and experience in risk management and asset condition management with ability to identify, understand, diagnose and respond in a timely, efficient and effective manner to common asset maintenance problems, delays and inefficiencies.
