ABOUT CANNINGTON
Our Cannington operation is one of the world's largest producers of silver and lead. Located in northwest Queensland, Cannington boasts an underground mine and processing facility situated approximately 800 kilometres west of Townsville and a concentrate handling facility at the Port of Townsville.
Flights are direct to the onsite airport, and the mine is only 3.5 km from camp—the perfect distance for a sunset walk or run home along a purpose-built walking track. The onsite accommodation includes meal services, sports/gym facilities, swimming pool, music room, and social area.

ABOUT THE ROLE
This role is a Permanent position on a 4:3 roster (Monday to Thursday), FIFO from Brisbane or Townsville, or DIDO from Mount Isa, Cloncurry and McKinlay shires.
As the Manager Technical Services, you will be responsible for providing leadership and direction to the Technical Services team, delivering short, medium, and long-term mining plans, geotechnical and geological models, schedules, and forecasts to meet operational objectives.
Other key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to:
- Leading, coaching, and developing the mine planning, geology, geotechnical, and survey teams
- Driving consistent planning processes in line with group and local requirements
- Building collaborative relationships with operational leaders to meet business objectives
- Directing measurement, reconciliation, and logistics functions to support production and marketing requirements
ABOUT YOU
You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:
- Proven leadership of technical teams in an underground mining environment
- Strong underground stoping expertise, including remnant mining
- Ability to link short and long-term mine plans to business objectives
- Authentic and inclusive leadership, fostering high-performing teams
Qualifications for this position are:
- Tertiary qualification in Engineering (required)
- First Class Mine Manager’s Certificate of Competency or equivalent (preferred)
- Registered Professional Engineer Queensland or equivalent (preferred)
- Mining Supervisor (G1, G8, G9) qualification, or the ability to obtain prior to commencement
- Current Drivers licence
