About this opportunity
As Manufacturing Manager at Pact's Moorebank Steri-Plas site, you will safely leading and manage direct reports and ensure the site’s processes are compliant with all PACT policy and practice procedures.
In this role, you will lead and be accountable for the initiatives required to achieve delivery of the site cost budget while using a continuous improvement outlook. The role is accountable for P&L cost lines, achieved through production forecasting (S&OP), driving, and improving Safety outcomes, Operational Excellence, Supply Chain and Reliability across the site. The role oversees functional areas and their associated personnel roles which are required to deliver these outcomes. Ongoing compliance with all safety, quality, performance, and people’s Key Performance Indicators are key measures of success that ensures the site adopts a culture of continuous improvement and customer focus on a consistent basis.
Your key responsibilities will be to:
- Promote and drive a safety culture focused on continually improving safety and ensure that safety before production is practice
- Maintain quality standards and controls to manufacture and produce packaging solutions that meet customer ISO 22716 & ISO 9001:2015 expectations and requirements
- Manage the technical and quality interactions with site production employees and ensure a customer focus.
- Ensure production plans are adhered to and engage WHS and Quality resources in planning processes.
- People Leadership and Workforce Planning
- Ensure we have the right skills in the right place at the right time and proactively addressing skill and/or performance gaps within the team.
- Implement supply chain improvement initiatives, ensuring the improvement of forecast accuracy and inventory levels
- Take full accountability to deliver the budgeted P&L cost outcomes for the business unit. Ensure a robust S&OP process is implemented and business improvement plans to deliver PIP long term.
- Manage the entire manufacturing process and ensure site is continuously improving and delivering a reliable and efficient operational result.
Your skills and experience
To be successful in this role, you’ll have:
- Depth of leadership experience operating at a site management level, in an industrial manufacturing operation and a P&L profit centre environment
- Experience in driving cost reduction through a continuous improvement strategy
- Demonstrated ability in leading S&OP process
- Experience and demonstrated understanding of practical application of Operational Excellence down to the shop-floor level.
- Leadership experience at delivering safety and cultural change in an industrial or manufacturing environment
- Proven people leadership, talent development and change management experience with a collaborative and enabling approach.
