As we expand operations, we are seeking an experienced Dispatch Manager to lead the outbound logistics function of our manufacturing facility.
The Opportunity
As Dispatch Manager, you will lead a dedicated team responsible for the timely and safe delivery of high-value glass products. This role demands a strong operational mindset, hands-on leadership, and a deep understanding of logistics in a manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the Dispatch team and oversee day-to-day dispatch operations, including order verification, loading and coordination of outbound goods.
- Lead and motivate team to meet all DIFOT KPIs
- Liaise with production teams to ensure accurate and complete fulfilment of customer orders.
- Ensure all products meet quality assurance requirements before dispatch, including checking for integrity, scratches, bows, shells, and specification compliance.
- Maintain accurate dispatch documentation and coordinate delivery schedules with both internal drivers and external logistics providers.
- Enforce strict compliance with FMI BI’s manual handling protocols and PPE requirements in line with WorkSafe Victoria regulations.
- Prioritise dispatch workloads based on customer due dates and delivery route planning.
- Implement continuous improvements to dispatch workflows, increasing accuracy, safety and efficiency.
- Monitor and report on KPIs and escalate issues to senior management as required.
- Lead toolbox talks and contribute to ongoing safety initiatives.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and compliant work environment at all times.
Essential Requirements
- Demonstrated experience in dispatch, warehousing, or logistics management, ideally in a manufacturing environment.
- Proven ability to lead and motivate teams while maintaining a strong presence on the floor.
- Sound understanding of transport limitations, manual handling risks, and safe loading procedures.
- Familiarity with product identification, order verification and load consolidation processes.
- Excellent communication, leadership and organisational skills.
- Commitment to health and safety compliance, including PPE enforcement and incident reporting.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office and logistics software systems.
- Forklift licence preferred but not essential.
