The Marketing and Communications Office is a group of committed professional services staff dedicated to inspiring people to choose Murdoch. Through brand, marketing and communications strategies we enhance the reputation of the University, drive future growth and lead employee communications. The team share the work of Murdoch University’s academics, researchers, staff and students with the Murdoch community, as well as domestic and international audiences.
Your New Role!
The Communications and Marketing Partner supports the University’s acquisition marketing efforts by creating targeted content and strategic communications that elevate the profile within the College of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics for the Engineering and Energy, and Information Technology Schools. Working closely with academic leaders of these schools and within Murdoch’s broader marketing strategy, this role develops tailored campaigns, drives staff and student engagement, and enhances program visibility.
Your Key responsibilities will include –

Content Creation and Storytelling: Craft compelling narratives that highlight academic
and student achievements, research outcomes, teaching innovations, and student
experiences to engage a diverse audience of current staff and students, future students,
and higher education, industry and community members. -
Reputation Building: Develop and execute communication strategies to strengthen the
reputation of the College and its Schools, showcasing the unique strengths
and achievements of staff, students and programs. This may include media outreach to
industry publications to secure relevant coverage and industry engagement activities. -
Social Media Campaigns: plan, execute, and manage targeted social media campaigns
on behalf of the Schools to engage current staff and students, attract prospective students,
and promote key events or initiatives. -
Marketing Materials Development: Create marketing content and materials to be used
by the School and, where appropriate, the MCO, such as course flyers, brochures, and
prospectuses, tailored to prospective student and stakeholder needs

This Fixed Term (2 Years) |Full Time attracts a remuneration of $ 97,743 – $ 107,690 plus 17% employer superannuation contributions.

What you’ll bring to the role:
-
A tertiary degree with 2+ years’ experience in marketing, content creation or community
management role or an equivalent combination or relevant experience and/or
education/training -
Knowledge and understanding of content marketing practices, digital platforms and social
media - Experience in managing and publishing website content
- Excellent writing, storytelling, and content production skills
- Ability to think creatively to concept, brief and deliver new ideas in the digital space

Ability to manage multiple priorities in a complex environment, leveraging their expertise
to deliver impactful communication outcomes - Desirable: Experience in marketing and communications across the fields of Engineering and/or Information Technology
