VeiraMal Consulting is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineering Technician to join our clients' business in Armidale. Our client, Ducats Earthmoving Pty Ltd is looking for an enthusiastic individual who can work well in a team, with strong communication skills.
Objectives of the Position:
- To provide technical support to engineers and operational teams through the design, testing, maintenance, and continuous improvement of mechanical systems and equipment.
- To ensures optimal performance, safety, and efficiency of machinery used in earthmoving and concrete manufacturing, supporting our commitment to operational excellence and client satisfaction.

Performance appraisal:
Three months after appointment, then at least annually and/or when required.
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
- Assist senior engineers in drafting and developing technical plans, diagrams, and detailed layouts for mechanical systems and components.
- Support the engineering team in conceptualising and refining mechanical machinery and industrial plant equipment.
- Identify appropriate machinery, tools, and materials required for production and installation tasks.
- Install, modify, and assemble mechanical systems including machine tools, automated controls, and hydraulic systems, ensuring proper setup and operation.
- Calculate and assess material needs, production resources, and associated costs to support planning and budgeting.
- Conduct testing procedures both in the field and in controlled environments to evaluate performance, reliability, and compliance.
- Gather operational data, perform technical analyses, and generate reports, schematics, and supporting documentation.
- Oversee routine inspection schedules and maintenance activities to ensure optimal performance of equipment and systems.
- Monitor project outcomes and finished work to verify they meet technical specifications, regulatory standards, and contractual requirements.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- At least three years of relevant experience in lieu of formal qualifications.
- Experience in mechanical design, installation, testing, and maintenance, preferably in civil or construction industries.
- Strong understanding of mechanical drawings and CAD software is desirable.
- Familiarity with Australian safety regulations and engineering standards.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills;

Remuneration:
$70K - $80K + superannuation
