About the Role
We are seeking a Mechanical Engineering Technician to join our team, providing expert on-site and remote technical support for machine tool equipment. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of high-precision machinery while ensuring customer satisfaction through professional service and technical expertise.
Responsibilities
· A full range of repairs to equipment, from minor breakdown service to full machine overhauls
· Provide service and customer support during field visits and in-house
· Manage, facilitate, or support on-site installation, repair, maintenance, customer training, and test tasks
· Diagnose errors or technical problems and determining proper solutions
· Collaborate with team members on projects and sharing information across the organisation
· Develope documentation to support operational activities
· Understand customer requirements and making appropriate recommendations
· Build positive relationships with customers
· Ensure timely communication and reporting to customers, Benson Management, and suppliers
· Comply with all legal and company safety, health, and environmental requirements in accordance with best practices, including but not limited to vehicle and machinery operations
· Adhere to all company procedures and protocols
Requirements
- Proven field service experience, with emphasis on precision turning and grinding machines
- Ability to troubleshoot, test, repair, and service technical equipment
- Experience with mechatronic systems, including electronics, hydraulics, pneumatics, CNC and mechanics
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Flexibility to adapt to changing schedules and work environments
- Technical degree or certification in mechatronics, electronics, or mechanical fitting & machining (or at least 5 years of relevant experience)
- Strong ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
- Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced, demanding situations
