About the Opportunity
The Maintenance Mechanical Tradesperson is responsible for performing maintenance, repairs, and servicing of mechanical systems, equipment, and machinery to ensure optimal functionality and safety. This role may involve working on a variety of systems, including hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical components, and requires adherence to workplace safety standards and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine preventative and reactive maintenance on mechanical systems, machinery, and equipment. Diagnose and repair faults to minimize downtime.
- Install and commission new mechanical equipment and systems as required.
- Investigate and resolve mechanical issues, ensuring timely and effective solutions.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including service logs, fault reports, and parts usage.
- Adhere to workplace health and safety regulations, ensuring all work is performed safely and efficiently.
- Work closely with other tradespeople, engineers, and team members to achieve maintenance goals.
- Provide guidance and supervision to apprentices or junior staff as needed.
- Work environment may involve workshops, industrial sites or outdoors.
- Ideal for a detail-oriented, safety-conscious individual with a passion for mechanical systems and a commitment to maintaining high standards of operational efficiency.
About you
- Proficiency in mechanical systems, including hydraulics, pneumatics, and diesel motors.
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
- Clear and effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Relevant trade qualifications (e.g., Certificate III in Engineering - Mechanical Trade or equivalent).
- Demonstrated experience in mechanical maintenance, preferably in an industrial or commercial setting.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks and work in various environments.
Eligibility
This role requires a current National Police Clearance and an Australian Defence Security Clearance. Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearance.
