We’re looking for a Media Communications and Relations Specialist to help protect and enhance our brand and reputation across media and digital channels. You’ll play a vital role in delivering proactive media content, supporting campaigns, and building positive relationships with media and stakeholders.
What you’ll do
Support the planning and delivery of media communications and relations activities and campaigns across traditional and digital channels. Write and edit engaging media content, ensuring it’s accurate , timely , and aligned with our brand voice.
Coordinate our proactive storytelling calendar and contribute to creative content that informs, engages, and inspires.
Monitor media coverage, prepare daily media reports, and assist in responding to media enquiries.
Provide communications support during key announcements, milestones, and emergency situations.
This role requires work out of standard business hours,
including on weekends, to support the nature of Urban Utilities 24/7 operations.
What you’ll bring
Tertiary qualifications in Communications, Journalism, Creative Industries, or equivalent experience.
Minimum 2 years’ experience in a media team, newsroom, or similar communications role.
Strong writing and editing skills adaptable to multiple formats, with confidence in verbal communication.
Proven ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and work calmly under pressure.
Experience building and maintaining relationships with media contacts and internal stakeholders.
Understanding of digital platforms for media distribution, monitoring, and reporting .
