Are you passionate about gaming and making a difference? Have experience being a dungeon master in Dungeons and Dragons? GAMER is seeking facilitators to lead engaging, recovery-focused gaming programs that support individuals with psychosocial disability in achieving their personal goals. You'll use person-centred, active support models to build independence, social skills, and community connection through gameplay. Help us create inclusive gaming environments where every session supports real-life progress.


At GAMER, we understand that games and gaming with others are vital to a person’s sense of self and wellbeing. Not only are we gamers, but we use all gaming and popular culture as the universal language to provide quality, engaging, and meaningful supports. We’re looking for a Mental Health and Interpersonal Skills Facilitator; we’re looking for someone like you.

At GAMER you would receive mentoring and hands-on training with our senior facilitator who will assist you to combine your gaming skills with a strong understanding of mental health and psychology, to deliver Applied Gaming programs. GAMER provides participants with a structured, fun, and engaging platform to discover, explore, and build interpersonal and coping skills that assist them in achieving personal goals


Key Responsibilities


As a Mental Health and Interpersonal Skills Facilitator, you will but not limited to:


  • Facilitate engaging, goal-oriented gaming sessions using recovery-based and person-centred active support models.
  • Support participants of various backgrounds and identities to build independence, social connections, and interpersonal skills through structured gameplay.
  • Identify and address barriers to participation, using gaming strategies to support individual goals and NDIS-funded outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, including progress notes, and contribute to client planning and compliance requirements.
  • Be willing to give different things a go and participate in games you might not have experience with.

You will need the following:


  • Certificate IV in Mental Health or equivalent;
  • Current First Aid and CPR Training- within 12 months;
  • Current NDIS Worker Screening Check;
  • NDIS Worker Orientation Module Certificate;
  • Working with Children’s Check VIC;
  • Experience with table top gaming such as Dungeons and Dragons

Desirable

  • Experience with ASD and or ADHD
  • Experience with creating RPG campaigns and adventures
  • Experience with Dungeons and Dragons 5th Edition.
