The Blacktown Early Assessment Team (BEAT) is seeking a dedicated mental health clinician to join a multidisciplinary team within the Prenatal, Child, Youth Mental Health Services (PCYMHS) at WSLHD. The role supports young people with complex mental health needs.
- Deliver comprehensive mental health, psychosocial, and risk assessments
- Provide evidence-based interventions and therapeutic community support
- Collaborate with families, carers, and the BEAT treating team for holistic care
- Promote trauma-informed, recovery-focused, and client-centred practices
- Participate in clinical supervision and ongoing service evaluation

Essential Requirements:
Qualification: Relevant tertiary qualifications in the fields of Psychology, Occupational Therapy, Nursing or Social

Selection Criteria:
- Demonstrate extensive clinical experiences including intake/triage, assessment, care planning, treatment, case management/coordination and transfer of care with young people who have complex mental health issues and/or dual diagnoses
- Demonstrated skills and knowledge in using individual and family-based interventions, functional, living skills, vocational, psychosocial interventions and therapeutic models of care, psychological assessments and services, and specialized nursing care in mental health
- Demonstrated commitment to working and partnering with Aboriginal consumers, families and their communities as well as improving health outcomes for socially disadvantaged groups/consumers within local community
- Competent working knowledge of NSW Mental Health Act 2007 and other relevant legislation
- Knowledge of evidence based practice in mental health recovery focused, trauma informed and client centred care approaches
- Demonstrate experience in both providing/receiving clinical supervision, sharing professional expertise within the team, and participating in quality improvement projects
- Effective consultation and negotiation skills, communication skills, report writing and computer/IT literacy
- Current driver’s license, ability and willingness to travel for work purposes
