About the role.
As a mental health support worker for Life Mental Health you will work autonomously in the community with our participants. You will be matched to support clients who best fit your skills, experience and personality. Life Mental Health encourage our workers to set their own hours with participants, manage their own schedule and work at a high-level professional accountability.
We are looking for a new team member who is committed to long term support for our participants in the community. Our participants value having regular support to help them work towards their goals and potential.
Life Mental Health has strong values in professional development and offer ongoing training and regular supervision (individual and group). Staff will have the opportunity to participate in and facilitate their own group activities and support our participants on their NDIA funded holidays and adventures.
Who are we looking for candidates who:
- Have highly developed interpersonal skills and are comfortable meeting and engaging new people.
- Have prior experience in a mental health or community support role.
- Are able to work a consistent roster at least 20 hours a week and over.
- Are able to work autonomously and is able to manage their own roster/ client hours, case notes and administrative tasks.
- Are willing to commit to at least 12 months in the role so as to ensure a stable and consistent service for our clients.
- Are confident using basic office technology and have their own phone and computer to use for work purposes (logging shifts, contacting clients etc)
- Have access to a car and a current driver's license (you will be required to transport clients in your own vehicle, but you will be reimbursed per kilometre for this)
- Have relevant training/education desirable, such as: A degree in Psychology, Social Work, or related field; A Cert IV in Mental Health, or related field.

Pay: $50,000.00 – $90,000.00 per year
