Golding is currently seeking a Mine Control Operator to be based on site at the South Walker Creek Mining project located near Moranbah.
Reporting to the Operational Technology and Mine Control Superintendent, the successful candidate will bring a strong understanding of mining operations, with the ability to make informed, real-time decisions and coordinate effectively across departments to meet shift objectives.
The roster for this role will operate on a 7/7 rotating day and night roster. Meals and camp accommodation will be provided for this role.
Key role tasks:
- Translate 24 hr plan priorities (production, maintenance, process plant, fuelling, etc.) into effective Asset and Personnel allocations that are competently adjusted dynamically throughout the shift as conditions require;
- Site-wide coordination, including communication of timely and accurate information and requirements between mining disciplines (D&B, L&H, Maintenance, Technical Services, Processing Plants, etc.) for safe production and effective emergency response;
- Maintain the FMS configuration so that it can accurately collect any automated data, enable correct categorisation of any manually entered data, and otherwise use this configured and maintained FMS application for optimising fleet assignments (using programmatic allocations whenever supported, and appropriate);
- Monitor available Production Systems to identify potential exposures of people, environment, and equipment to harmful or non-ideal circumstances and intervene according to site specific trigger, action, response plans (TARPs);
- Collect accurate data throughout the shift using the Fleet Management System to continuously verify that activities logged are accurately representing activities undertaken. Maintain log of shift context to support FMS collected data; and
- Log opportunities, operational non-compliances, and system defects such that they can be actioned as appropriate.
Key capability requirements:
- Experience in Mining Operations is essential;
- High level of initiative with the ability to work autonomously and prioritise tasks effectively;
- Strong situational awareness and the ability to make accurate, real-time decisions in a fast-paced operational environment;
- Demonstrated ability to monitor data inputs and operational systems to identify and respond to potential issues or inefficiencies;
- Tertiary qualifications in a related field are highly preferred;
- Demonstrated proficiency in using Fleet Management Systems is highly preferred;
- Well-developed communication skills (verbal, written and interpersonal) demonstrating the ability to interact with internal customers, external stakeholders and clients.
